Day 1. Access to AWS and the databases, and we agree the three dashboards and who needs to see what.

Infrastructure
Days 2 to 3. Metabase, its database, HTTPS, login and backups, plus the permission model.
STEP 03
Dashboards
Days 4 to 6. Built with your team on screen, so they learn the tool while the dashboards take shape.
STEP 04
Handover
Day 7. Training, the runbook, and a check that backups restore.
Scope and the small print
- It runs in your AWS account. You own it and pay AWS directly; a typical small setup costs between $30 and $80 a month to run.
- No Metabase licence fee. If you later want the paid features (white-labelling, advanced embedding) we set that up for the difference in effort.
- Prefer Google Cloud or your own server? Same package, same price.
- The price covers up to three data sources and three dashboards. More of either is quoted up front, never mid-project.
Questions
Asked before buying
Why Metabase rather than Looker or Power BI?
It is free to run, simple enough that non-technical people actually use it, and good enough for most companies up to a few hundred staff. If you have outgrown it we will tell you, and we work with the others too.
Do we have to use AWS?
No. Google Cloud, another cloud, or a plain virtual server all work. AWS is just the most common ask.
Can we embed dashboards in our own product?
Yes. Metabase supports embedding with per-customer filters. That is scoped separately because it depends on your product.
We already run Metabase. Can you just secure it?
Yes. A security review, permission clean-up and backups on an existing instance is a smaller job and priced accordingly.
